On S&P 500 the biggest liquidity levels are stacked well below the recent move. The strongest one sits around 620 and is the clear dominant level on the chart. A second large liquidity level is around 630 and recent liquidity is still visible there though it is smaller than the main 620 area.
Liquidity level | Estimated depth |
|---|---|
Around ~620.00 | Extreme liquidity cluster |
Around ~630.00 | Large liquidity cluster |
On SPY the strongest recent unusual volume cluster sits in the rebound off the late-March low around the 640 area. That cluster is the clearest high-intensity event on the chart and it came during a sharp selloff and reversal sequence which points to panic selling rather than steady positioning. More recent candles into the 730s and 740s show only lighter activity so the deepest unusual volume remains concentrated lower.
Unusual volume cluster | Extremity | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
Around ~640.00 | Extreme | Panic selling |
On S&P 500 the most recent liquidation events are clustered during the late upswing. The latest one sits around ~740 and it is a seller liquidation event which keeps the near-term path tilted upward. Just before that there are seller liquidation events around ~725 and ~710 and both came during a sharp rising move, with the ~725 print standing out more as a capitulation-style flush.
Liquidation | Extremity | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
Around ~740 | Moderate | Sellers liquidated |
Around ~725 | Large | Sellers capitulated |
Around ~710 | Notable | Sellers liquidated |
